The attached application is for our Provincial Resource Program for Gifted Students;
The University Transition Program. You may or may not already be familiar this
Provincial Resource Program, but as it is application time, I thought it might be
helpful to send you this info directly.
Located on campus at UBC, the University Transition Program is a two-year
pre-university program that prepares academically gifted adolescents to achieve
their goals of early entrance to university and successful studies thereafter.
Students complete core academic courses at Grades 11 & 12 level, write
provincial examinations and meet the requirements of the Faculties to
which they apply in order to achieve the BC Dogwood Certificate and
early entrance to UBC.
Each year, this program takes in 20 students who have completed
grade 7, 8, or 9. 10 spaces are allotted to the VSB, as it is a joint program,
and 10 spots are allocated to the rest of the province.
Applicants can find more information about this secondary path and an
on-line application at: https://universitytransition.ubc.ca/ Attached is
a pdf of the application package which can be found on the VSB website:
